Getting Ready at Banks Bed and Breakfast and The Distillery
As a Raleigh wedding photographer, I couldn't have been more happier that Ben and Ericka began their wedding day in two beautifully contrasting spaces that perfectly reflected their personalities. Ben got ready at Banks Bed and Breakfast, a cozy hideaway just a short drive from The Distillery. The warm textures and natural light created the perfect setting for quiet, meaningful moments with his groomsmen. Meanwhile, Ericka spent her morning in the sunlit bridal suite at The Distillery, surrounded by her bridesmaids as they helped her step into her gown.
A First Look Filled with Emotion
Ericka shared a heartfelt first look with her father and bridal party, and the room immediately filled with emotion. These are the moments I love capturing most, the ones that unfold naturally and become some of the most treasured images of the day. Instead of doing a first look with her groom, Ericka saved that moment for the aisle. It added a beautiful sense of anticipation that carried through the early hours of the day. For couples still deciding between a first look or traditional aisle reveal, you can explore more insight on my Raleigh wedding photographer page.
The Ceremony at The Distillery
The Distillery’s clean white walls and airy architectural style created a stunning backdrop for Ben and Ericka’s ceremony. Ben’s reaction as Ericka walked down the aisle was one of my favorite moments to photograph, a perfect blend of joy, awe, and tenderness. The space allowed their love story to take center stage, giving every guest a clear and intimate view of the moment they said their vows. If you are considering this venue, feel free to view more The Distillery wedding photos on my site for additional inspiration.
Elegant Wedding Portraits at The Distillery
After the ceremony we explored the property for portraits, making full use of its modern lines, soft natural light, and beautifully manicured outdoor spaces. The Distillery has so many versatile spots for photography, from minimalist white walls to warm outdoor landscapes that glow during golden hour. Ben and Ericka slipped easily into the moment, allowing me to capture a mix of editorial and candid images that reflect my signature style. You can browse more editorial inspired love stories on my real wedding galleries page.
A Joy Filled Reception and First Dance
The reception began with Ben and Ericka sharing their first dance before guests were seated for dinner. It created such an intimate transition into the evening, setting the tone for heartfelt toasts and lively celebration. Their closest friends and family shared stories, laughter, and a few joyful tears as the night unfolded. I always encourage couples to structure their reception around meaningful moments like these, ones that tell the story of their relationship in a genuine way.
