Chris & Kristen's Timeless Summer Wedding at Pinehill Pavilion
Some weddings are filled with an energy that feels both joyful and grounded. As their photographer, I could tell right away that Chris and Kristen’s summer wedding at Pinehill Pavilion was exactly that kind of day. Set among the rolling greens of Youngsville, their August celebration was elegant, heartfelt, and beautifully intentional — with every detail feeling deeply personal.

First Touch Instead of a First Look
Chris and Kristen decided to forgo a traditional first look and instead share a “first touch” before their ceremony (one of my favorite newer wedding traditions). Tucked quietly on either side of a doorway so they wouldn’t see each other, they reached for each other’s hands and exchanged a few whispered words filled with excitement and emotion. It was such a meaningful moment to photograph, capturing all that sweet anticipation right before they finally saw each other for the first time walking down the aisle.
Outdoor Ceremony Under Umbrellas
Their ceremony took place outside under rented umbrellas from Party Reflections, providing much-needed shade and comfort for guests on that warm North Carolina day. The setting was serene and classic — surrounded by nature and accented with florals from Ever Be Floral that added a soft, romantic touch to the design. And as Kristen walked down the aisle, Arione Strings filled the air with live music, setting an elegant tone that carried through the entire day.
A Planner Who Made It Seamless
The day was planned and orchestrated by Debra of Unveiled Events, and I especially appreciated how her calm expertise kept everything flowing perfectly. She thoughtfully adjusted the schedule as needed and even joined me in finalizing the photography timeline to ensure every moment Kristen wanted captured would fit into the day’s schedule. Thanks to that level of care and attention to detail, everyone — especially Chris and Kristen — could relax and fully enjoy the celebration.
A Joyful Evening to Remember
After the ceremony, the celebration continued with live entertainment from Peridot Sun (plus a jazz band!) that kept the energy high and the dance floor busy. Dinner and dessert by Cake Couture were both a feast for the eyes and absolutely delicious, fitting perfectly into the day’s aesthetic. And as the sun set, I couldn’t help but admire how stunning Kristen still looked — Glam by Hubby made sure her hair and makeup stayed soft, radiant, and timelessly elegant under the golden evening light.
A Reflection of Real Love
For me, Chris and Kristen’s wedding was a perfect reflection of who they are as a couple: thoughtful, deeply connected, and surrounded by people who clearly adore them. Every detail — from the music to the florals to that quiet first touch they shared — told a story of love that was rooted in meaning. Honestly, it was an honor to be the one capturing their day. It felt just as wonderful as it looked in the photos — filled with laughter, music, and heartfelt moments that I know will be cherished for years to come.
